Daniel Bjork
Dan is the founder and owner of Summit Strategic LLC. He grew up in Southern California. Before moving to Summit County Colorado in 1991, he achieved his Black Belt in Sha-Chan-Ma Kung-Fu. Dan and his brother operated a Kung-Fu studio part time where they were the primary instructors.
Dan grew up shooting but did not begin receiving formal training until 2010. He then became a certified instructor through the NRA in 2015. Dan’s instructor certifications include: Pistol, Rifle, Personal Protection Inside the Home (PPITH), Personal Protection Outside the Home (PPOTH), Refuse To Be A Victim (RTBAV), and is a certified Range Safety Officer (RSO). Dan also has trained with Front Sight Training Institute, Gunsite Academy, Sheepdog Response, Tactical Krav Maga, and Haley Strategic. Besides his extensive personal training program, Dan stays current with outside training multiple times a year. He also possesses a Federal Firearms License.
Dan is also the Vice President of the Summit Range Association which manages the Summit County Shooting Range. When not at the range, Dan owns and operates Mountain Meadow Development, Inc., an excavation company specializing in single family homes in Summit County.
Dan also enjoys riding his motorcycles and chilling with his friends and family.
Tom Kroenke
Tom and his wife, own a consulting firm that assists medical device manufacturers in obtaining domestic and international market access for their products. Over the last 20 years they have helped hundreds of companies achieve this goal.
When not hammering away at his keyboard, Tom is on the range as an NRA certified Range Safety Officer (RSO) and pistol, rifle, and shotgun instructor. He is also a USA Shooting Level 1 precision rifle coach and holds an Orange Belt in Krav Maga. Tom volunteers his spare time and firearms skills to the Boulder Rifle Club Junior Smallbore Program and to the Summit Range Association.
He has an Electrical Engineering degree from the University of Nebraska, and an Engineering Management degree from the University of Colorado.
Tom’s experience, from youth to adult, is an asset to Summit Strategic. His expert instruction skills can bring anyone to the next level.
Megan Greff
Megan is a wife, homeschool mom, and business owner. Growing up in New Jersey she had zero exposure to firearms. Naturally, being around guns made her incredibly uncomfortable. When she took Dan’s Defensive Handgun class, she realized her fear was directed at the wrong place. She began to understand that what she feared was how people handled guns, not the guns themselves. Megan took Summit Strategic’s Handgun 1 class and then followed it up with a 4 day course at the Front Sight Training Academy in Nevada. To quote Megan “I was shocked at how few women were at Front Sight. A firearm is a great equalizer. In a world that demands equality at every turn, why weren’t women learning how to not be a victim?”
Now Megan has a passion to help people become educated and comfortable with firearms so they can safely and confidently handle one if they desire. She wants everyone, especially women, to have the freedom to choose if they want guns in their life rather than base their decision on fear and uncertainty.
Megan understands if you are fearful and will help educate you so you feel confident in your abilities and knowledge of handguns.
Brian Denison
Brian spent most of his life in Kansas City, Missouri. After working in the airline industry for 30 years, he and his wife Nan, moved to Summit County Colorado to enjoy the mountain lifestyle. Brian is a veteran of the United States Navy Reserve.
Brian has been shooting for most of his life. His father was a local law enforcement officer, then later, a Federal Agent. He taught Brian to shoot at a young age. Brian is an NRA certified Pistol and Rifle instructor, as well as Chief Range Safety Officer (RSO). He is one of the founding members and past President of the Summit Range Association. This is a non-profit organization that manages the Summit County Shooting Range.
Brian continues his personal training with trips to Front Sight Training Institute in Nevada.
When not practicing his shooting skills, Brian and his wife are enjoying retirement.
Brian’s patience is a great addition to the Summit Strategic team. He will stick with you until you assimilate the skills you need to be safe and confident in your handling of firearms.
Sam Hughes
Sam lives in Breckenridge, CO. He is currently retired from the railroad industry. Prior to that, he served as a tank platoon leader in the Marine Corps and was Captain of his battalion’s shooting team. In the Marine Corps he qualified expert with both the rifle and the pistol.
Sam is a seasonal instructor at Front Sight Firearms Academy in Nevada; a Sig Sauer certified pistol instructor; and an NRA certified pistol instructor and Range Safety Officer (RSO).
Sam’s education is extensive. He has an MBA from the University of Georgia, an MST from Northwestern University, and a BA from the University of North Carolina. Sam is married to Mitzi Hughes and has two grown children; Adam and Samantha.
